The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training Resilience Challenge Adds Meaning to Miles
An Innovative Virtual Challenge to Move, Fundraise, and Commemorate Blood Cancer Awareness Month
Rye Brook, NY (August 25, 2020) – Having blood cancer is tough. Having blood cancer now is even tougher. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training campaign is partnering with leading event technology platform, haku, to raise awareness and funds in support of LLS’s goal of creating a world without blood cancer.
Today, LLS is launching Team In Training’s Resilience Challenge, a movement and fundraising challenge encouraging participants to complete 50 miles of movement and $500 of fundraising during September, Blood Cancer Awareness Month.
Team In Training’s Resilience Challenge kicks off on September 1, with free online registration opening on August 17. This 30-day initiative aims to inspire, promote community, and encourage healthy habits while supporting LLS’s fight against cancer. The virtual experience will feature exclusive fundraising incentive items from the active lifestyle industry leaders such as Goodr, Headsweats and ROAD iD.
“The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has helped advance more than 50 blood cancer treatment options approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration since 2017 – to honor the great work we have collectively done, we are inviting individuals, families, friends and communities to move 50 miles and fundraise $500,” said Yana Anderson, VP, LLS Campaign Development Athletic Initiatives. “Team In Training’s Resilience Challenge gives us the opportunity to join together as ONE LLS across the country to show our support for patients and beat cancer to the finish line, one mile at a time.”
Utilizing haku’s virtual suite of products and fully native fundraising platform, Team In Training will be offering an unparalleled virtual experience for their community. Through custom solutions designed to drive motivation, participants will find it easier to reach and exceed their goals.
“We’re very excited to help fuel such an amazing and impactful mission,” said haku Founder & CEO, Carlos Escobar. “As a company obsessed with innovation, we’re proud to partner with Team In Training who shares our passion for creating unforgettable new experiences that drive a positive impact.”
