Volunteers take oath; Fashion show and opening of Athletics Experience Zone in Daegu

Daegu, Korea – The Local Organising Committee of the IAAF World Championships, Daegu 2011 (27 Aug to 4 Sep) marked the final countdown to the start of the championships just 30 days more to go with a number of activities during official D-30 celebrations in the city.

In a ceremony in Daegu Stadium, the 6000 championship volunteers pledged their commitment to the successful hosting of the Championships, and there was also a fashion show of the Local Organising Committee uniforms and volunteers' attires.  

The Athletics Experience Zone at Daegu Stadium was also opened with the dignitaries having the opportunity to try the mini-athletics games and some of the sponsors' products.  

All the D-30 events were covered nationwide in Korea by the country’s major newspapers and TV/Radio networks.
