We publish his letter to the mayor of Berlin Michael Müller to save the Olympic Stadium.
Horst Milde
Dear Michael Müller
I wish to add my voice to those who are complaining about, and campaigning against the potential closure/re-design of the Berlin Olympiastadion, eliminating its use as a venue for athletics (leichtathletik)
As a frequent visitor to Berlin and to the Olympiastadion itself, there is probably no more iconic athletics venue in the world.
In addition to attending many events in the Berlin Olympistadion since my first visit to Germany, for the Olympic Games in Munich 1972, I attended the IAAF World Championships there in 2009, and shall be there next year for the European Athletics Championships 2018.
I hope that I shall be able to visit the Olympiastadion long into the future to witness world class athletics
your sincerely,
Pat Butcher
