RUNNING GERMANY ON AN ISLAND: FOEHR Marathon – Welcome to the 6th Föhr-Marathon on April 9th, 2017

By GRR 0

Germany’s most northerly island marathon offers everything for a charming run through the exiting landscape of the island of Föhr:

The esplanade of Wyk welcomes you with a terrific view on the Halligen (small islands without protective dykes).

Then you continue along the dykes where you can experience the rough charm of the North Sea with all your senses. After that you run through the green and never ending marshland and geest areas of the island with their picturesque Frisian villages.

The ever-present gusty winds make even the flat parts of the marathon a challenge.

In addition to the regular marathon distance two different types of half-marathon are available.

Furthermore, a relay is possible – a team consisting of three members who run the whole marathon distance in three legs (15, 16 and 11 km).

You can choose between the following competitions:

Marathon – Half Marathon – Late Riser Half Marathon – Marathon Relay
