RUNNING GERMANY: BERLIN – Medical research study: The Wall Race becomes an object of research – 100 Miles Berlin – The Wall race on august 13, 2016
Paul Schmidt is not only a top athlete (German Champion and record holder of 50 km), but also a sports physician at Berlin’s hospital teaching Charité.
Coming from this professional background, he had the idea to use this year’s Wall Race for a medical research study.
After all, the sport-physiological and medical correlations of ultrarunning are hardly investigated.
Participation in the study, which includes an echocardiography, is voluntary.
Not only Paul Schmidt is curious about the new discoveries that the “Wall Race Study” will show.
