Check Out Harlem
Celebrate historic Harlem Week with us at the Percy Sutton Harlem 5K Run and NYC Family Health Walk on August 27. Whether you participate in the walk or the run, this event is designed for the whole family—and any level of fitness. Register to enjoy our annual run in the neighborhood.
Reinvigorate Your Routine
Avoid a seasonal training slump with NYRR classes that start in August and September. Our Running Classes provide a complete workout each Tuesday and Thursday for 10 weeks, starting in early August. We also offer two classes to help you prevent—and recover from—injuries: NYRR Strength and Flexibility follows Wharton Performance guidelines to ward off common injuries, and Deep Water Running is a non-impact pool-based workout on multiple days of the week to fit your schedule. And don't forget NYRR BRiX Bike-Run, if multiport races are in your future.
Bring on the Bronx
Register for the Bronx Half before it closes. The fourth race in our NYRR Half-Marathon Series, this event on August 28 is filling up fast—don't miss your chance to explore NYC's northernmost borough on foot. As you train for this race and others this summer, brush up on how to stay safe in the heat and humidity.
Cheer for the Team Champions
Be part of the cheering section at the NYRR Team Championships if you're not running with a local team. This event is open to established, NYRR-recognized team members who've been racing with a team—check our race page for the full qualifications—but anyone can come out to root for the city's top runners. If you're thinking about joining a team, meet the regulars and see what racing is all about.
Summer Youth Series
Encourage your kids or your friends' middle or high school-age children to get moving with our free Summer Youth Series in NYC.
Whether they're running for the first time or strengthening their habits, kids will learn to love the sport by starting this six-week program. Meet our coaches in Prospect Park, Van Cortlandt Park, or Central Park for an evening of running activities from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. E-mail us for details for more information.
