Marine Corps Historic Half Registration Begins MCM Weekend

By admin 0
QUANTICO, Va. – The Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) offers a unique opportunity for motivated individuals to #RunWithTheMarines. Starting on Saturday, Oct. 25, the MCM will offer the lowest registration fee available for the popular Marine Corps Historic Half. The Marine Corps Historic Half will be held on May 17, 2015 in Fredericksburg, Va.

"MCM runners are always looking for a challenge," says MCM Director Rick Nealis. "For MCM10K participants, that could mean doubling the distance and competing in the Marine Corps Historic Half. This year runners can register for the next challenge while experiencing the thrilling atmosphere of the MCM and the incredible organizational skills of the U.S. Marines."

The Historic Half registration fee is only $60. Online registration will be available at www.marinemarathon.com.

Located halfway between the nation's capital and the capital of the Commonwealth, runners are ideally positioned to witness significant landmarks dating back to our nation's beginnings and to experience neighborhoods that were home to Presidents George Washington and James Monroe along the 13.1 mile Historic Half course. All participants receive a technical shirt and the impressive Historic Half finisher medal.

Also known as "The People's Marathon," runners from all walks of life participate in the MCM, the largest marathon not to offer prize money.

The 39th MCM sponsored by Arlington, Brooks, Hyundai and GE will be hosted in Arlington, VA on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014. No federal or Marine Corps endorsement is implied. #RunWithTheMarines.
