Kosice Peace Marathon 2021 – THE EUROPE’S OLDEST MARATHON WILL BE RUN FOR 98TH TIME

The last important information about the Kosice Peace Marathon this weekend

• Košice Peace Marathon is held again under auspices of Slovak president Zuzana Čaputová.
• There is over 7 000 registrated runners in all disciplines.
• Among elite runners also Tesfaye Abera (2:04:24), Deribe Robi (2:05:58) or Denikesh Mekash (2:23:12) and Sardana Trofimova (2:24:38).
• Past winners Reuben Kerio, Maryna Damanstechvich or Milliam Ebongon will come as well.

• 30 student teams will run 4 x ¼ marathon relay to honor Abebe Bikila within the project „In the footsteps of marathon legends“.
• Košice Marathon host Slovak national championship in marathon with Tibor Sahajda (2:15:25) being the heavy favourite.
• Peter Polák the leader of Diamond Club will run its 45th marathon in Košice (overall he has run 206 marathons).
• Kids Athletic program will be led by triple Olympic participants – sister twins Dana and Jana Velďáková (triple jump, long jump).
