The 6th International PSD Bank Meeting Düsseldorf 2011 PSD Bank indoor meeting in Düsseldorf on 11 February, a European Athletics Indoor Permit Meeting, have announced that there will be a top class clash in the women’s 60m hurdles.

American hurdler Lolo Jones, the 2008 and 2010 World Indoor Championships 60m hurdles gold medallist and US record holder, will line up against the top German Carolin Nytra, the 2010 European Athletics Championships bronze medallist who was also the fastest European indoors over 60m hurdles last winter when she clocked 7.89 to win at the German Championships.

Nytra, 24, has set her sights on a medal at the 2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Paris, between March 4-6, and the race on home soil three weeks before hand will be the perfect preparation.

Also in the Düsseldorf race will be Canada’s 2005 World Championships 100m hurdles gold medallist Perdita Felicien, who returned to form in 2011 after several years of injuries and finished with the silver medal behind Jones in Doha.

The men’s shot put also promises to be a highlight of the Düsseldorf meeting with American big man Christian Cantwell, the reigning world champion both indoors and outdoors, up against Germany’s 2006 European Athletics Championships gold medallist Ralf Bartels, who got a bronze medal in the defence of his title this summer in Barcelona.

Local star Jennifer Oeser, the 2009 World Championships heptathlon silver medallist who also took a bronze in the same event at the 2010 European Athletics Championships, has already been announced as a competitor in the long jump.

The long jump will be Oeser’s main event during the indoor season, rather than combined events. She is also aiming to be on the German team going to Paris as well as improving on her personal best of 6.68m, which she jumped in Barcelona en-route to her place on the podium.
