Dear colleagues,

100 Years of German Sports Medicine is an occasion, which has to be celebrated. The German Association for Sports Medicine and Prevention (DGSP) is the oldest sports medicine society in the world. The DGSP belongs to the biggest medical societies in Germany – and only a few can look back onto such a long tradition.

We are pleased that the International Federation of Sport Medicine / Fédération Internationale de Médicine du Sport (FIMS) and the European Federation of Sports Medicine Associations (EFSMA) have taken over the patronage for our centenary congress.

The anniversary begins with a festive ceremony in Konzerthaus Berlin on 4th October. On 5th and 6th October the scientific congress will take place, to fix the position of sports medicine with international spearkers.

Part of the international congress is the Founding Congress of the European Task Force Exercise is Medicine.

At the same time, there will be a practical training with independent topics. Key aspects of the update sports medicine 2012 are orthopedy and traumatology, as also internal themes for general practioners, internal specialists and orthopedics.

The congress will include a scientific poster-presentation, a trade show and a historic exhibition of 100 Years sports medicine.

We would like a brisk exchange of ideas and lively discussions due to the presentation of new trial results.
