FLORENCE MARATHON (ITA), SUNDAY 26th NOVEMBER 2017

Sunday, 26th November 2017, is the date of the 2017 edition of the international classic road race, the 34th Florence Marathon.

Step by step all along its 42 kilometers and 195 meters you are surrounded by centuries of art, history and culture, a unique emotion that can only be experienced by those who run in Florence. Year after year, thousands of sportspeople and enthusiasts from all over the world come to participate in this classic race on the last Sunday in November. 

This extraordinary increase in participation also testifies to the constant attention given to the organization of the race.

Florence Marathon is now the second Italian marathon (after Rome), and among the 20 most important marathons in the world.

The route takes you by all those landmarks of singular beauty that have made Florence famous worldwide: views over the enchanting hills and countryside, and passing right by the Cathedral Square, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio (to mention only just a few of historical importance), before entering the majestic Piazza Duomo.

The road is entirely asphalted and ramp-free, except for the short, slightly sloping stretch of road at the start, and these characteristics make it a particularly fast route appreciated by runners.

MARATHON EXPO, EXHIBITION AND WELCOME POINT

On the occasion of the 33th edition of the Florence Marathon, International Marathon of Florence, 26th November 2017 the Florence Marathon Expo will be set-up, an important and fundamental reference and meeting point for the marathoners, public and corporate. The Florence Marathon Expò, combines a large exhibition centre with the athletes centre and the start bib and start bag distribution point, making it a real meeting place for the sportsmen and athletes or simply for the outdoor sport fans, capable of exceeding the 35.000 visitors of the previous editions.

LOCATION

The Florence Marathon Expò will be located inside the structure of the Athletic Stadium "Luigi Ridolfi" of Florence, flagship of the Florentine Athletic, within the indoor spaces of the national Fidal and inside the military gym and arena, entrance Viale Malta, at Campo di Marte. The structure offers a 4000m2 of exhibition. The Athletic Stadium is easily reachable by car with large parking spaces and public transport access such as buses or trains thanks to the proximity of F.S. Campo di Marte train station.

ACTIVITIES

– Exhibition stand set-up – The Florence Marathon Expo offers the ideal opportunity to introduce and present the latest products and compare them with the new tendencies of the market.

– Sporting, tourist and entertainment initiatives – It will be possible to taste the typical Tuscany products, to get vouchers that you can use in all the restaurants affiliated to the Marathon, to meet sports‚ world champions and entertainment actors, to assist to the official presentation of the Tuscany feast and many other activities.

– Distribution point of start numbers and start bags – During Friday 24th and Saturday 25th for participants to the marathon and the participants to the FAMILY RUN.

WHY PARTICIPATE
