European Athletics – (EA) – News – SPAR European Cross Country Champs to be televised in 11 countries
Eleven International Broadcasters from across the continent will be televising the Belgrade 2013 SPAR European Cross Country Championships this weekend.
National Broadcasters in Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Spain and United Kingdom plan to show 24 hours of live or delayed coverage of the championships’ 20th edition.
The number of broadcasters is the same as for last year’s event in Budapest although there has been an increase in the intended number of hours to be televised from 17 hours for Budapest 2012 to 24 hours – with Russia’s broadcast intentions still to be confirmed.
European Athletics will also stream live the SPAR European Cross Country Championships on 8 December with English-language commentary.
The live streaming platform at https://eurovision.digotel.com/ea/index.html is provided in partnership with European Athletics' principal sponsor SPAR.
Athletics fans around the world will be able to watch the championships live in their entirety. Fans will also be able to instantly rewind the action and watch video on demand of an event just a few minutes after it has finished.
A Facebook feature allows fans to chat with each other as they watch the action unfold, while they can follow all the latest news and opinions on the championships through a feature that lets them follow the @Euro_Cross and @EuroAthletics Twitter feeds and see all the Tweets with the #Belgrade2013 hashtag.
During Belgrade 2013, fans can also keep track of the action through the Belgrade 2013 Live Blog on the homepage of www.european-athletics.org. Minute-by-minute reports, tweets, photos, athlete interview videos will be posted here as the action unfolds.
