You can still secure a starting spot for the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON - Graphic: Organisers
BERLIN-MARATHON 2021 wishes you all a sporty Christmas and a Happy New Year 2021
A somewhat different Christmas is knocking at the door, at least for most of us. No Christmas markets, no big celebrations, no large get-togethers.
All of this is denied to us this year, and so the motto is: make the best of it. The London Zoo has taken this motto to heart. The penguins, who suffer from a lack of visitors, have been provided with Christmas movies to combat their loneliness.
“When they are watching the festive movies, they are very calm,” reports one animal keeper. The Disney movie “Frozen (The Ice Queen)” is likely to be particularly popular with the flightless seabirds. A tradition that is also frozen this year is the celebratory family dinner. But this also leaves more time for running. Therefore, nothing can stand in the way of top sporting performances during the festive season – except perhaps grandma’s traditional dish. We wish you all a wonderful holiday season filled with great culinary delights in the comfort of your small family circle.
You can still secure a starting spot for the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON here
The results of the drawing for spots in the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2021 were sent out over the past few days. If the luck of the draw did not play along, don’t worry, as you will find opportunities for another shot here. Starting on January 27, 2021, there will be an additional 1,000 starting spots available as part of the “RTL Spendenmarathon für Kinder in Not” (RTL Donation Marathon for Children in Need) – please create a user account in advance. In addition, our cooperating tour operators still have race entries available.
The Realbuzz Group is the official charity partner of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON and is offering starting spots together with the opportunity to collect donations for a matter of the heart. Last but not least, you can still secure a starting spot by joining a premium running camp or one of our marathon training courses from our running experts. For years, this opportunity has been a highlight for perfect preparation.

AfterTheLongChristmasRun-Cookies
To ensure culinary treats during the Christmas season, we have a great receipt idea. The long runner in December: The good butter cookies. For the perfect short pastry you’ll need 150 g cold butter, 250 g flour, 80 g sugar, one sachet of vanilla sugar and a happy egg. The amount of the dough can be varied, depending on the desired amount of cookies or the quota to give to family and beloved relatives. After all ingredients found their way in the bowl, the kneading starts until a smooth lump metamorphoses.
Park the lump in the fridge for around 30 minutes and roll out on a flour dusted work top. Now you can cut out the dough with different cookie cutters (there are even some runner motives online). A prepared baking tray with baking paper is now happy to be loaded. The cookies can now tan in the oven for approx. 8-10 minutes at 180° degrees celsius (356°F) depending on the crunch preference. After the tanning process the cookies leave the oven for the grand finale. The frosting is still missing.
For this the confectioner uses 3 tbsp lemon juice and as much icing sugar as needed to form a sticky mass to coat the cookies and to refine them with the perfect toppings. Let them rest for a couple of minutes (with pleasure the waiting period may be spent singing).
Et voilà! There they are, the perfect after race butter cookies …
GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON postponed to August 22, 2021
In recent months, we have worked intensively on hygiene concepts and have discussed measures for the safe implementation of the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON for April 11, 2021. The concern for the health of all participants as well as the uncertainty of the future situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic at least until spring have now led us to postpone the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON 2021 once again: from April to August 2021. The new event date is August 22, 2021.
The EXPO for the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON will take place as usual in the days before the race. With the information about the postponement, all participants are being offered the uncomplicated transfer of their personalized race entries to August 22, 2021 for the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON. All participants will get detailled information in January.
Together with the participants, we are looking forward to the 40th anniversary of Germany’s largest half marathon, for which the entire SCC EVENTS team continues to work with great dedication.
Race entry transfer for all participants of the Berlin Road Race – Die Generalprobe
However, the Berlin Road Race – Die Generalprobe is also scheduled for August 22, 2021. Since it is not possible to run both races, anyone who registered for the half marathon can
transfer their race entry to the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON
Information on the detailed procedure will be sent to all registered participants of both events, including the double registrants for both races and the 10 km starters of the Dress Rehearsal, in January 2021.
