Event previews – Rio 2016 Olympic Games

With six days to go before the start of the athletics programme at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, which takes place from 12-21 August, previews for each of the 47 medal events have started to be published.

The publication schedule is:

Saturday 6 August – relays, race walks and combined events
Sunday 7 August – throws
Monday 8 August – jumps
Tuesday 9 August – distance and road running
Wednesday 10 August – sprints and hurdles
