6. AIMS MARATHON SYMPOSIUM und der 30. Athens Classic Marathon am 11. November 2012 laden ein – Doppeljubiläum in Athen und in Marathon

Das AIMS Marathon Symposium: AIMS hat in Zusammenarbeit mit der Stadt Marathon und dem Griechischen Leichtathletik-Verband (SEGAS) das alljährliche stattfindende internationale "AIMS Marathon Symposium" entwickelt, das in jedem Jahr zum Athen-Marathon am historischen Startort des Athens Classic Marathon, einen Tag vor dem klassischen Marathon auf dem Originalkurs veranstaltet wird.

AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) veranstaltet das Symposium am historischen Startort des Marathons – einen Tag vor dem Athens Classic Marathon – der auf dem Originalkurs nach Athen führt. AIMS feiert das 30-jährige Jubiläum der Organisation – zusammen mit dem 30-jährigen Jubiläum des Athens Classic Marathon – mit einem Festakt an der Grabstelle der gefallenenn Krieger Athens 410 v. Ch. – und einem Galadiner.

Eingeladen zu diesem Jubiläum sind nicht nur die AIMS-Mitglieder, sondern auch alle anderen Laufveranstalter, die Einzelheiten sind den untenstehenden Anhängen zu entnehmen.

Zehn deutsche Laufveranstalter gehören AIMS inzwischen an. Insgesamt 330 Laufveranstalter aus über 80 Nationen sind Mitglieder von AIMS.

Das Doppeljubiläum in Athen und in Marathon sollte sich kein Veranstalter entgehen lassen.

AIMS MARATHON SYMPOSIUM AIMS – in collaboration with the City of Marathon and SEGAS (the Hellenic Athletics Federation) – has established the annual international "AIMS Marathon Symposium" which is held every year in Athens-Marathon, at the premises of the historic start venue of the Athens Classic Marathon, the day before the annual Classic Marathon race held on the original Marathon course.

The aim of this annual international event, the AIMS Marathon Symposium is to encourage close co-operation and exchange of views on issues of mutual interest which will assist organisers in their constant efforts to improve their races. The organization of an annual Symposium at the birthplace of the Marathon, besides discussing current issues regarding the organisation of a successful Marathon event, also raises significant symbolism related to World Peace, Olympic Ideals and Fair Play.

The 6th AIMS Marathon Symposium will be held on November 10, 2012, under the title: "Levels & Quality Control of a Marathon Event". During the Symposium, four (4) major speakers and other round table participants will present and discuss with the audience various issues related to the main topic, aiming at offering useful ideas, solutions and practices to race organisers and city or sport authorities involved.

2012 being the 30th anniversary of both AIMS and the Athens Classic Marathon, both organizations are jointly holding a Gala Dinner to be held on Friday November 09, 2012, two days before the Athens Classic Marathon. Important sport figures and prominent Marathon organizers and runners are invited to attend the Gala Dinner and all the events held at this occasion.

In addition to the Symposium sessions, all Symposium participants are invited to attend all events taking place between November 09-11, 2012: the Gala Dinner, the EXPO, the Opening Ceremonies at the archaeological site of Marathon Tomb and the start and finish of the Athens Classic Marathon race on November 11, 2012.
