A Swiss was the athlete of the day on Friday night: Kariem Hussein took the 400m h title at a packed Letzigrund Stadium.
Only four Swiss athletes have won the European title before him: Fritz Schwab, Philippe Clerc, Werner Günthör, and Viktor Röthlin.
