We're just back from the Gold Coast Airport Marathon Expo and it was wonderful to renew old friendships and make new acquaintances at our expo stand. Thank you to all those runners who called in and we hope you enjoyed the weekend as much as we did. 

We've added a number of new events to our website and have featured them in this week's newsletter. If you've ever thought about running a Jungle Marathon, the time has come! From Jungles to lake monsters, we've also released packages for the Loch Ness Marathon. Make sure you keep an eye on the website as there's always something happening when it comes to bringing you a whole new world of marathons!   We also remind runners of the upcoming local events, the Hunter Valley Winery Running Festival and the Townsville Running Festival (check our website for special deals to Townsville!). The event runs from the 3rd to the 12th of October and RunFun Travel has packages available now.

The event is conducted in the Amazon Rain Forest and offers a unique experience in a spectacular part of the world. 

And if a marathon isn't far enough, no worries, you can keep going for either 120km or 250km!

Entrants from 16 countries have already assured the success of the inaugural Da Nang International Marathon.

The event, the only marathon in Vietnam, will take place on 1 September and RunFun Travel has a number of options available, whether you require a weekend only stay or would like to take advantage of our 10 Day Tour Package, there are still places available for this year's event.

If you are interested in running you will undoubtedly enjoy Bill Rodgers recently released book, Marathon Man – My 26.2 Mile Journey from Unknown Grad Student to the Top of the Running World.

Bill Rodgers historic victory in the 1975 Boston Marathon launched the modern running boom. In the space of two hours and nine minutes, he went from obscurity to the legend that became "Boston Billy," claiming an American record in his historic first victory in Boston.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Bill at the LA Marathon in 2006, one of my most memorable moments.  His charm, wit and amazing experiences are not to be missed. Do yourself a favour and get your hands on a copy.
