WALKING GERMANY – Oxfam Germany Trailwalker – september 7./8., 2013 – Teams of 4 walk (or run) 100 kilometers in under 30 hours.

 

Besides the physical challenge, each team is obliged to fundraise donations of at least € 2,000.- to support Oxfam Germany's vital work e.g. in Subsahara Africa and South Asia and enable the people we help to bring about positive change in their lives.

Each Trailwalker team has its own support team which provides all necessary support during the 100 kilometers, such as food and beverages, warm clothing and, most importantly, encouragement and motivation when you feel you cannot walk on.

History of the international event

The event began in 1981 as a military exercise for the elite Queen´s Gurkha Signals Regiment in Hong Kong, and has since grown into one of the world´s leading sporting challenges. Oxfam Germany Trailwalker is part of an international series also held in Hong Kong, Great Britain, Japan, India, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Quebec, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Spain. The event has raised more than 40 million euros internationally with thousands of teams competing each year.

The fouth  Oxfam Germany Trailwalker will take place on 7 and 8 September 2013. The location of  the Trailwalker is the well-known Harz Nature Reserve, with start and finish in Osterode am Harz. Team sponsoring

Each Oxfam Germany Trailwalker team raises a minimum of € 2,000.-. The funds can be raised through family, friends, business colleagues and associates or via fundraising initiatives and events. As a team sponsor, you can support a specific team.

To support a team, go to 'Ein-Team-sponsern' and click the button 'Jetzt sponsern' or 'Teams'. Select the team you want to sponsor and choose whether you are sponsoring as a business (Firma) or not. A pop-up screen (sponsor form) will appear, in which you can fill in your details.

After successfully completing the form (and pressing the button 'Senden'), the pop-up window will close automatically. After completion, you will receive an email confirming your donation.

If you have a German bank account you can choose direct debit as the payment method. Your German bank account will be charged within a month with the amount you donated.
