Victory flags of the Jungfrau-Marathon for the Sportmuseum Berlin – AIMS MARATHONEUM in Berlin
The JUNGFRAU-MARATHON/Switzerland was organized on the 10th of September 2016 in the Bernese Oberland this year for the 24th time. The start is next to the Grandhotel Victoria-Jungfrau in Interlaken.
Interlaken is located 565 m above sea level, the finish of the course is on the "Kleine Scheidegg" at 2,095 m above sea level, in the face of the imposing three-star "Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau". You have to climb 1.829 meters uphill and 305 meters downhill. The race has always been sold out in the last few years.
The course near the start of the main street in Interlaken is always decorated with great banners of the winners of the race in the past, a special honor of the winners still in retrospect.
This honor of the winners in this way is probably unique worldwide.
During a visit in Interlaken a long time ago, there was the remark that the "Sportmuseum Berlin" would surely be happy about such a present of a banner!
Three days ago an email came in:
"I am delighted to announce that the OK Jungfrau-Marathon will send two banners to the " Sportmuseum Berlin – AIMS MARATHONEUM "
– Emebet Abossa, ETH (three-time winner & two-time second)
– Marco Kaminski, SUI (5-time winner)

The MARATHONEUM already has a collection of medals of the Jungfrau-Marathon, so that these flags represent an extraordinary enrichment of the collection.
Our thanks to the organization team for this donation to the MARATHONEUM.
