Vail Recreation District\’s Krueger Family Shamrock Shuffle Set for Saturday, March 16

VAIL, Colo. – The Vail Recreation District's second Krueger Family Shamrock Shuffle 10K, 5K and kids 1K fun run is scheduled to take place at 4 p.m. March 16 in celebration of all things green on St. Patrick's Day weekend at the Vail Nordic Center.

The race will include a snowshoe and Yaktrax category and will be followed by a post-race gathering that will include a free Bloody Mary and Irish Coffee Bar provided by Avon Liquor and Vail Mountain Coffee Roasters, plus a free participant dinner provided by Happy Valley Grill in the Vail Nordic Center.

Costs for the race are $15 to preregister or $25 day-of and free for the kids 1K fun run. Registration includes the post-race dinner and Bloody Mary and Irish Coffee Bar, plus hot cocoa for the kids. Snowshoe rentals will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Vail Nordic Center.

Prizes will be given out to the top three women and men in the 10k snowshoe and Yaktrax categories and include gift certificates to the Vail Chophouse, Blue Moose Pizza and more. Prizes will also be awarded to the top three overall men and women in the 5k division regardless of what they wear on their feet. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded to the best St. Patrick's Day-themed outfits.

A raffle drawing will also take place for all participants at the after party with an opportunity to win snowshoes from Tubbs and Atlas Snowshoes, Yaktrax and prizes from Wigwam, Outdoor Techn, Arc'teryx, North Face and more.
