USA Track & Field – News – Natasha Hastings sets American record in the women’s 300m at New Balance Indoor Grand Prix

BOSTON — Olympic and World Champion Natasha Hastings (Brooklyn, New York) was victorious in more ways than one Sunday, setting the American record in the women’s 300 meters at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.

Hastings ran 36.25, besting Allyson Felix’s record of 36.33 set just over nine years ago in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Kurt Roberts (Ashland, Ohio) defeated compatriot Reese Hoffa and double Olympic gold medalist Tomasz Majewski on his final throw of the afternoon, tossing a world-leading and personal best  21.57m/70-9.25 to win Sunday, while Hoffa threw a best of 21.02m/68-11.75 to finish second on the afternoon.

Sam Kendricks (Oxford, Mississippi) upset defending World champion Shawn Barber in the men’s pole vault, clearing 5.76m/18-11 in Boston.
