USA Track & Field – News and Notes – March 12, 2015 – USATF.TV to air four events live this weekend

USATF.TV will air four events live this weekend, including the USATF Hershey Youth Indoor Championships, the USATF Marathon Championships, USATF 15 km Championships and New Balance Indoor Nationals.

The start time for the 2015 USATF Marathon Championships has been moved up 30 minutes to accommodate for the potential for high temperatures in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Saturday, March 14 – Live at 8 a.m. ET

Sunday, March 15 – Live at 8 p.m. ET

USATF Hershey Youth Indoor Championships

Friday, March 13 – Live at 5 p.m. ET

Saturday, March 14 – Live at 9 a.m. ET

Sunday, March 15 – Live at 9 a.m. ET

USATF 15 km Championships

Saturday, March 14 – Live at 8:20 a.m. ET

USATF Marathon Championships (note new time)

Sunday, March 15 – Live at 9:40 a.m. ET (6:40 a.m. local)

Max King named IAU Men’s Athlete of the Year

Max King has just been named the 2014 IAU Men’s Athlete of the Year. King had an outstanding season, winning the 100 km IAU World Championships in Doha, Qatar with a time of 6:27:41. His time broke Tom Johnson’s 19-year-old North American record of 6:30:11.

Athletes finishing on the podium at Major IAU Championships had automatic nominations on the short list. Those names were combined by nominees received from our website nomination. The shortlist (listing their performances in IAU labeled events) was sent to all 78 IAU member federations and IAU Council members.

2015 USATF Masters 10 km Championships registration now open

The 2015 USATF Masters 10 km Championships registration is now open with registration closing on Saturday, April 25. The race takes place on Sunday, April 26 in Dedham, Massachusetts.

Competitors will be vying for a total prize purse of $10,000 and the host hotel, the Holiday Inn Dedham, has blocks available for participants. Please visit the event page for more information.
