Mo Farah (coach: Alberto Salazar) will target his fifth consecutive victory at the Bupa London 10,000m on Monday 27 May.

The 30 year old, who won double Olympic gold over 5,000m and 10,000m at London 2012, first won this title in 2008 and set the course record of 27:44 in 2010.

Joining Farah on the start line will be Scott Overall (Robert Chapman), who represented Team GB in the marathon at the London Olympics and finished second in this event last year.

In the women’s race, Steph Twell (Mick Woods) and Amy Whitehead (George Gandy) will lead the British challenge. Whitehead finished in 14th place at last month’s Virgin London Marathon and will look to improve on her personal best of 33:48 as she makes her Bupa London 10,000m debut.

Twell, who was crowned World Junior 1500m champion in 2008, will also compete in the Westminster Mile 24 hours before the Bupa London 10,000m.

In the first ever running of the event, which takes place in St James’ Park with 30 races between The Mall and Buckingham Palace, will act as the official UK Mile Championship. There will be races for juniors, veterans, wheelchair athletes and visually impaired runners as well as the elite athletes.

Joining Twell in the elite women’s field will be European 800m finalist Jemma Simpson (Mark Rowland), World 1500m silver medallist Hannah England (Bud Baldaro) and former Commonwealth 1500m champion Lisa Dobriskey (Ricky Soos).

In the men’s race, Olympic finalist Andy Baddeley (Andrew Hobdell) will take on fellow 2012 Olympians Nick McCormick (Lindsay Dunn), who competed in the 5000m at London, and Ross Murray (Craig Winrow).

Six-time Paralympic gold medallist David Weir (Jenny Archer) and London Paralympic 200m champion Richard Whitehead (Keith Antoine) are also competing.
