Two Ocean Marathon – Project Management Specialist

The Two Oceans Marathon Association (TOMA) seeks to appoint a Project Management Specialist to plan, host and manage the annual Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon Runners’ Village for the 2013 event, renewable twice on the basis of satisfactory performance following an evaluation at the end of each successive event.

If the TOMA is satisfied with the performance, the total duration of the agreement will be from 2013 to 2015. The TOMA subscribes and is committed to the principles of employment equity and Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE); adherence to and integration of these principles will serve as an advantage to all our service providers.

An information session is scheduled for Monday 29 October at 10h00 at the Two Oceans Marathon Office, 88 Belvedere Road, Claremont. All applicants will have to attend this session and final proposals will have to be submitted by 15h00 on Friday 2 November 2012.

Objective of the Runners’ Village

To provide accommodation and meals to (150+) athletes who do not have the financial capacity/support, but the passion to participate in the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon.

SCOPE to include

• Appropriate accommodation and meals for 3 days (Friday 29 March 2013 10h00 to Sunday 31 March 2013 11h00)

• Transport from the Expo/Registration on Friday

• Transport to the start/finish venue(s) on race day(s)

• Stringent criteria for applications to the Runners’ Village to be applied

• Coordinate the applications, select the successful ones and inform applicants.

• Meet athletes and oversee them during the duration of their stay.

• Sight-seeing excursion/experience Cape Town.

• Organise a Runners’ Village Prize-giving Dinner on Saturday 30 March 2013 from 17h30.

Proposal to include

• A budget for all associated costs needs to be compiled. Opportunities for securing sponsorships and/or partnerships will be explored in cooperation with the Event Marketing Manager.

• Proposal to specify the management fee.

• A business or project flow plan for the project is required.
