TOKYO Marathon 2016 – Thanks to all your support

Dear all, Thanks to all your support, Tokyo Marathon 2016, the 10th anniversary edition of the Tokyo Marathon, turned out to be a great success.

It was a fresh start with a new logo. Tokyo Marathon 2016 wheelchair race sanctioned by the international Paralympic Committee (IPC), and thus there was intense competiton among elite athletes both from home and from oversea.

The competitions for the Abbott World Marathon Majors Series IX title were also fierce and Eliud Kipchoge and Mary Keitany were declared as the winners. It is expected that athletes who competed in the Tokyo Marathon play an important rule at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics and Paralympics.

Since it was 10th anniversary edition of the marathon, several new projects such as “Kick-Off Event” “Runner cheer up song” and “After-Run Thanks Party” were attempted. With so many people attending, “After-Run Thanks Party” enjoyable event.

A decade of Tokyo Marathon 2016 is now over, but it’s already the beginning of a new era. The event will evolve further in the next ten years.

We would like to thank runners, volunteers, and spectators along the streets of Tokyo as well as those who cheered the runners through the television screen. Furthermore, we really appreciate those who showed understanding for the needs of closures .
