Thousands of Runners to Gain Entry in the 2020 United Airlines NYC Half Drawing
United Airlines NYC Half Official Charity Partner Program launches today
More than 25,000 runners to participate in the one-of-a-kind race on March 15
The one-of-a-kind running experience showcases New York City’s historic landmarks, popular parks, sweeping views from the Manhattan Bridge, and diverse neighborhoods starting at Prospect Park in Brooklyn then passing Grand Army Plaza, the United Nations, Grand Central Terminal, and Times Square, before ending near the iconic TCS New York City Marathon finish line in Central Park.
“This iconic race is emblematic of the energy and excitement of New York City. It is one of our most popular events that runners look forward to every year,” said Michael Capiraso, president and CEO of New York Road Runners. “Additionally, the race supports hundreds of charities and their meaningful work through the extraordinary efforts of our charity runners.”
This year’s drawing included 47,793 applicants and 15,325 runners* were added to the race field through the non-guaranteed entry drawing today. Runners can also enter the field by running in support of hundreds of worthy causes through the United Airlines NYC Half Official Charity Partner Program (list of Charity Partners).
The 2020 United Airlines NYC Half field will consist of both guaranteed and non-guaranteed entrants. Runners received guaranteed entry through a variety of methods, which are detailed here. Non-guaranteed entrants are being selected through today’s drawing. The application period for all entrants opened on October 17 and closed on November 13. In conjunction, the United Airlines NYC Half Official Charity Partner Program registration will open today.
