The Cowtown Marathon to Host 2023 USATF Half Marathon Championships – RUNNING USA

January 20, 2023 -FORT WORTH – The Cowtown announces that the 2023 USA Track and Field Half Marathon Championships will take place at Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas, during The Cowtown’s annual weekend of races February 26, 2023, thanks to a partnership with Visit Fort Worth and Fort Worth Sports Commission.

The Cowtown won the bid to host the national championship event in conjunction with our 45th anniversary.

Some 200 elite athletes from around the country vying for the Championship title will run the same course as The Cowtown Half Marathon on the same day. This is an exciting opportunity for our running community as well as spectators.

USAT&F Prize Purse totals $60,000 will have both men and women in the top 10 receiving a cash award. The money structure is: 1st = $12,000; 2nd = $8,000; 3rd = $4,000; 4th = $2,000; 5th = $1,000; 6th = $900; 7th = $750; 8th = $650; 9th = $450; 10th = $250.

Cowtown’s Prize Purse will also total $30,000 and include both men and women.

Ultra Marathon 1st = $1,200; Overall Masters & Grand Masters = $200

Full Marathon 1st = $1,500; 2nd = $1,000; 3rd= $600; Overall Masters & Grand Masters = $600

Half Marathon 1st = $1,200; 2nd = $750; 3rd = $400; Overall Masters & Grand Masters = $400

10K 1st = $500; 2nd=$300; 3rd = $200; Overall Masters & Grand Masters = $200

5K 1st = $300; 2nd=$200; 3rd = $100; Overall Masters & Grand Masters = $200

1st Place in all age divisions = $50 each.

All Prize money is provided by Fort Worth Sports Commission, Asics Run Keeper, and Always Advancing
