The Art of Tradition: 2025 Peachtree T-Shirt Design Contest Now Open – RUNNING USA

Artists may submit up to three designs via the Club’s website until February 26.

With a $11,600 prize purse, the largest in the contest’s history, this year’s competition raises the stakes for creativity. The winning design will earn $5,600 in honor of the 56th Running of the Peachtree, along with a feature on a commemorative edition of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution front page. Second- and third-place winners will take home $3,500 and $2,500, respectively.

“For decades, the Peachtree T-shirt has been more than just a finisher’s prize ─ it’s a badge of honor and a symbol of Atlanta’s culture and spirit,” said Rich Kenah, CEO of Atlanta Track Club. “This contest is an opportunity for artists to showcase their talents and leave a lasting legacy on one of Atlanta’s most cherished traditions.”

Last year’s contest drew 333 submissions from artists across eight states, a record-breaking number likely fueled by the first prize-money increase since the contest’s inception in 1995.

A panel of judges from Atlanta Track Club, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Atlanta’s running community will select five finalists based on creativity, adherence to contest rules and requirements and how well the design captures the race’s history and significance.

From March 10 to April 10, the public will be able to vote for their favorite design at ajc.com/Peachtree. As tradition dictates, the winning design will remain a closely guarded secret until the first runner crosses the finish line in Piedmont Park on race day.

The 56th Running of the AJC Peachtree Road Race will take place on Friday, July 4, 2025, starting at Lenox Square and finishing at Piedmont Park. Registration for Atlanta Track Club members opens April 1, offering guaranteed entry, the lowest price and placement in Start Waves A-M. Non-member registration will also open April 1, with the lottery system returning this year. Member and lottery registration closes April 30, with lottery participants notified of their status in early May.
