The 6th Edition of the LUX*Mauritius Marathon will take place on the 19th July 2015 6th Edition – LUX*Mauritius Marathon is a fantastic challenge on one of the most beautiful tracks in the world! 19 JULY 2015 – NEW COURSE!
The new course reveals landscapes all along the most beautiful coastal road of the Island and spectacular through one of the UNESCO protected site Le Morne.
Before the big day, come and support our athletes and spend a pleasant evening with runners, family, friends and organizers to share a good time around a good buffet 'Pasta Party' at the Tamassa hotel.

The start will be given at 6:30 am from Saint Felix. The participants/competitors will have 6 hours to reach the finish line at Saint Felix beach.
The Semi-Marathon will take place on the same day. A course of 21,1Kms on the beautiful coastal road between La Prairie – Baie du Cap and Saint Felix.
The start will be given at 7:00 am from La Prairie -Baie du Cap, the participants/competitors will have 4 hours to reach the finish line at Saint Felix beach.
The start of the 10 Km will start at 9:30.
On the track, you will find fishermen, surfers, and kite surfers. The spectacular views will include Le Morne Mountain with its fantastic history and legends, the pebble beach, the Sanchot Island, and the coastal roads next to the beautiful seas and beaches.
You reach the Finish line at St Felix beach where you will be able to have a nice sea bath well deserved. Before the prize giving lunch will be served at 11:30.

New course for the Marathon !
Mauritius Marathon is becoming the most important marathon of the Indian Ocean Islands in terms of the number of international participants. It is a unique event because of its claim not only to offer another race, but to create unforgettable experience and magic moments for the runners and their families and at the same time promoting in a dynamic way our destination.
Mauritius Marathon is an AIMS (& IAAF) Certified race.
The Organizing Committee is composed of the following key Members:

He is also Technical Director and Official Measurer of Paris Marathon and technically involved in many other major Marathons in the World.

Marathon runner with 20 years’ experience in Tour Operating and Airline business specially with Mauritius and Indian Ocean.
He has also established since the last years strong and key relationship on behalf of Mauritius Marathon with major Marathons in the world including Berlin, Frankfurt, Athens, Stockholm, Vienna and Florence Marathons.
Mauritius Marathon is also financially supporting SOS Children Village and Link to Life (cancer fight) associations in Mauritius.
Support is also given to disabled runners: a delegation with 2 blind runners was invited from Reunion Island and one deaf runner from Germany took part in the race.
We will definitely give further support to the disabled sector and encourage more disabled runners to take part in the editions of the Mauritius Marathon.
The Race:
There will be the classical Marathon, a Half Marathon and a 10k-race the same day, 19th of July 2015.
The sixth edition of the Mauritius Marathon will take the runners from the start at Saint Felix on breathtaking 42,195 km along the coastal roads to the Finish line at St. Felix public beach, where a swim in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, food and drinks, a massage and a first Sega Party will wait for you!
Enjoy the creole villages, crystal-clear blue lagoons and friendly Mauritians along the track.
You will experience one of the most beautiful races of the world.
The Half Marathon and the 10k runners finish as well at St. Felix beach and will join the party there.
The Track very scenic and a little bit challenging having a few upward slopes.
The Island:
Mauritius is a tropical Island in the Indian Ocean, east of the African Coast and Madagascar and south of the Seychelles. The approximately 1,2 million Mauritians are descendants of people from India, Africa, China and Europe and you will find all world religions being peacefully practiced on the Island. Mauritius is a reputable democracy.
The Climate:
The local climate is tropical, but in July there are daily temperatures of maximum 23 – 25 degrees Celsius, for the Marathon there will be 13-15degrees for the start in the early morning and 18 – 22 for the finish, the humidity in July is very low.
The Approach:
The organizers do not only want to offer another race like hundreds in this world, but we want our guests to spend an unforgettable time on our Island. We want them to take their time, experience the Island and its beauties, meet the people, the cultures and the religions. We want them to feel a new world full of harmony and balance.
The Events:
There will be a Marathon Expo, a Pasta Party and a Gala Dinner at our Marathon Hotel Tamassa, we will organize exclusive and unforgettable excursion for our guests like a visit at the SOS children village, our charity partner, nice and surprising trips on the sea and on land and we will meet the Mauritians at their daily life. Swim with the dolphins, sail along the coastline or visit the Grand Bassin
Wilson Kipsang will be Guest at the 6th LUX* Mauritius Marathon 19th of July 2015
Edition of the Mauritius Marathon 2014
The World-Champion, Ex-World-Record-Holder and Winner of great Marathons like Frankfurt, Berlin, London and New York, Wilson Kipsang and his wife Doreen will be guests of the Mauritius Marathon this year.
This unique Marathon will take place on the 19th of July 2015
At the London Marathon on the 26th of April Kipsang will compete against Dennis Kimetto, the actual World Record Holder and a few months later he will support the organizers with some charity events on the beautiful Island in the Indian Ocean.
There will be – like every year – a visit with interested runners to one of the SOS children villages which are one of our Charity-Partners on the Island.
The Mauritius Marathon has achieved a high level of sympathy and popularity with the runners because of its partnerships with some major Marathons like Frankfurt, Stockholm, Athens, Amsterdam, Salzburg and the Reggae Marathon Jamaica.
