Schubert’s chamber music is a cosmos in itself. With its beguiling, vocal melodies and expressive harmonic language, it plumbs the depths of human feeling and being: Joy and sorrow, love and loss, connection and loneliness.

In our Schubert Marathon with members and ensembles of the Berliner Philharmoniker, you can immerse yourself in these musical landscapes of the soul: from Schubert’s early string trios to the late String Quintet in C major, with such famous works as the dance-like „Trout Quintet“ and the abysmal string quartet „Death and the Maiden“.
