RUNNING GERMANY: WÜRZBURG – iWelt Marathon on may 19th, 2013 / WVV Half Marathon / AOK Walking Day
Officially measured city course, passing almost all sights in town. Each kilometer is indicated by respective signs. Numerous fests and/or bands along the course.
Opportunity to switch:
You can switch over from marathon to half marathon, if you finish your run after 21.1 km. It is, on the other hand, also possible, to switch over from half marathon to mareathon, if you continue after 21.1 km.
Important:
If you do not reach the full marathon distance, the half marathon distance will be rated.
Finishing
After finishing all participants will be celebrated, get their medals, beverages, bananas, cake, etc. at the Finish Line Banquet and can have a massage. Afterwards everybody can take a refreshing shower directly in the finishing area.

Free choice of distance
Changing from Marathon to Half Marathon is possible, as long as the race is finished after 21,1 km.
Victories and age group-scores will only be accounted for when the participant passes the official timing-line of the Half Marathon-finish.
Qualification Boston Marathon
iWelt-Marathon Würzburg is one of the few Marathon events in Germany that is accepted for qualification for Boston Marathon.
Start
9:00 am in front of Congress Centre Würzburg (CCW). Finish deadline: 2:30 pm (5:30 hours).

Samba-Marathon in Würzburg!
This has Würzburg never seen before. We start the Würzburg Samba-spectacular around CCW. Numerous Bands will cause quite a stir Saturday and Sunday. Don´t miss it!

Ceremony
Those gaining one of the first three places in one of the overall classifications will be honored right after the respective competition. Non-cash prices as per age group in marathon / half marathon for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (men/women) (no award ceremony). The prices can be collected at the info counter.
Price money and non-cash prices not collected will not be forwarded later. Ceremonies only for Marathon, Half Marathon and Inline Half Marathon. All other runs are about being a part of the fun
TakeNet Fun Race (10 km)
All companies, teams, friends and families are welcome to join the Business Team run sponsored by TakeNet. The most important change compared to former Team Marathon:
All participants start together and have the opportunity to experience the event of starting and home strait together as one team.
The tracks length is 10,55 km and takes in most parts the regular Half Marathon track along the most important sights of the city. Finish is in front of the Congress Centre Würzburg (CCW).
- Start und finish same like HM/M/Walking
- Joint start shortly after start of the Marathon
- Team score = Total time of all 4runner-teams
- Single participants and smaller groups welcome, but no score
- Registration individually online via internet, important: same team-name
- Timing with ChampionChip
- Indvidual times accessable via internet
