Competition categories
The E.ON Mitte Kassel Marathon 2013 is organised according to the international competition regulations (IWR) of DLV under the supervision of Hessischer Leichtathletik-Verband (HLV). There will be separate results for men and women. Finisher categories will be in accordance with IWR regulations.

Terms of participants
Competition is open for anyone born in 1995 or earlier (Half-Marathon 1997) with the official registration number of the des E.ON Mitte Kassel Marathons 2013.

Rules
The participant must be well prepared and have a medical certificate. The participant confirms that the date of birth and target time are precisely stated. The race number is non-transferable and must be worn on the participant's chest. Runners must keep to the marked route. The organizer will disqualify participants in the following cases: Leaving the course, missing several intermediate timings, alteration of the race number. Baby-Joggers are not permitted.
In case of non-attendance, failure or intermission by act of God there is no right of reimbursement of the organisation fee.
Any photos, films and interviews gathered within the framework of the event for radio, television, print media, advertising, books or photomechanical copies may be distributed by the promoter without any responsibility for reimbursement.

Additional Competitions

Police Cup
There is a separate Police Cup competition in the Marathon and Half-Marathon, open to members of Police Departments. This competition has no age groups. Please indicate your Police Station. Please show identification badge for proof of eligibility.

MLP-Uni-Cup
There is a separate MLP-Uni-Cup competition for students and employees of high schools and universities. The MLP-Uni-Cup is awarded in the Marathon, Half-Marathon, Power-Walking-Half-Marathon and Marathon Team Relay without age categories. When registering, please name your university. Please show your university- or student identity card for proof of eligibility.

PaKa-Cup
There is a separate "PaKa-Cup" for participants who will start at Paderborner Osterlauf (March 30th) and E.ON Mitte Kassel Marathon (May, 12th)

German Church Championship
Special Championship for employees of catholic and evangelical church and employees of Caritas and Diakonie.

Marathon Team Relay
With its four-person teams and three baton changes, The Marathon Team Relay, run concurrently on the official marathon route, is a special challenge for groups, companies or sport clubs. The competition is open to participants born in 1996 or earlier. Competition categories are Men's Relay, Women's Relay, Mixed (two men, two women) Relay, and Family Team Relay (four relatives). Shuttle bus transport from the Auestadium to the transfer points is provided. A bus schedule will be published.

Mini-Marathon
Mini marathon (4.219 km) only for pupils born between 1994 and 2004. Race awards will be given in the following age divisions and teams with ten competitors: 2004/2003/2002 – 01/00 – 99/98 – 97/96 – 95/94.

Mini-Inline-Skate Half-marathon
Mini Inline halfmarathon (2.1 k) only for pupils born after 2000.

Inline-Skate-half-marathon
Competition in the Inline-Skate-Half-marathon is open to participants born in 1998 or earlier. Competition divisions are Men's, Women's and Team Men's and Women's. Helmets are required and race numbers must be worn on the chest.

Handbike Half-Marathon
Competition in the Handbike-Half-marathon for categories MH1 (A), MH2 (B), MH3 (C), WH (F), U18 M/W (Y). Handbike-Half-Marathon is part of National Handbike Circuit according to the rules of EHC.

Walking and Nordic Walking Events
The 8 km Walking and Nordic Walking events occur Auepark area and are separate from the Marathon competitions. The Walking events are not competitive races; the list of results will be alphabetical with the finishing times, with no rankings on the list or on the certificates. Nordic Walking is also allowed in the Power-Walking Half-Marathon. Please keep to the right.

Registration deadline is April 22, 2013 (postmark).

Registration confirmation
Registration confirmations will be e-mailed to participants registered before April 22, 2013. Please submit the confirmation at the Registration Desk for Packet Pick-Up.
Packet Pick-Up
The Race Expo and Registration Desk will be open Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11, 09:00 – 20:00, and Sunday, May 12 (race day), 06:30 – 08:00.
Late registration
Late registration for Marathon, Half-Marathon, Team Relay and Power-Walking competitions is possible at Registration Desk in the Expo. The fee for late registration is 10 Euro in addition to the Registration Fee (e.g. Marathon 55 Euro + 10 Euro Late Registration Fee, so 65 Euro total). The Registration Desk is open Friday, May 10, from 14:00-20:00 h, Saturday, May 11, from 09.00 to 20.00 h, and Sunday morning from 06.30 – 08.00 h. The race organizers reserve the right to limit registration for organisational reasons.
Items included in Registration Fee
Included to the organisation fee are following items: Race Number with Easy Chip, time recording, finisher medal, direct certificate, Pasta party, finishing food and drinks, online certificate and online results, Marathon Magazine, Massage, Marathon bag with giveaways, free entry to Marathon expo, bag check during race, shuttle bus to relay exchange points.
RACE DAY INFORMATION

Route Marathon
The Marathon route is a single loop which runs through Kassel's neighborhoods, including Waldau, Forstfeld, Lohfelden, Bettenhausen, Wesertor, Wolfsanger, Fasanenhof, Nord(Holland), Philippinenhof-Warteberg, Rothenditmold, Kirchditmold, Vorderer Westen, Mitte, Wehlheiden, Süd, and Untere Neustadt.
The route is marked at every Kilometer.
Route Half Marathon
The half-marathon route runs through Waldau, Bettenhausen, Wesertor, Nord(Holland), Rothenditmold, Kirchditmold, Vorderer Westen, Mitte, Süd, and Untere Neustadt.
Start / Finish
Start and Finish for all competitions is at the Auesteadion. Finishing round in the Auestadium. Participants are expected to take starting positions depending on their expected finish time.
Timekeeping
Official timing for all participants will be kept exclusively using the Easy-Chip Transponder System. The timing chip is affixed to the starting number and need not be returned. The fee for timekeeping is included in your registration fee.
Inline-skaters will use an AMB Transponder, which should be returned undamaged at the end of the race. The participant is liable for loss.
Results and split times will be available from Fa. Davengo.
Food and drinks
For all competitions, drink will be available every 2,5 km starting at the 5 km point.
Food will be available every 5 km starting at the 7,5 km point.
Awards
All participants will receive a medal and race certificate with finishing time and ranking at the registration desk.
Results will promptly be published divided in gross and net time under www.kassel-marathon.de. Finishing certificates will also be available via Internet.
Finisher T-Shirts are available for purchase for 10 Euro.
Massage
A free massage service is offered to all finishers by RehaMed Bad Wilhelmshöhe. The massage area is near the changing area at Ice Stadium/Sports Hall.
Medical care
Participants receive medical care by Deutsche Rote Kreuz. Members of medical team are authorised to prohibit a participant from competition in order to protect the participant if there are commensurate health indications. Please do not leave the official route.
Changing and showers
Participants will be able to change and shower at at Ice Stadium/Sports Hall

Arrival / Parking
Starting and finishing area are close to the highways A7, A44, A 49 exit Exhibition Hall/Auestadium. There is abundant parking both around the Exhibition Hall and near Auestadium/Icehall. A map is available at the marathon website. Pleas use although tram and regio tram.
