RUNNING GERMANY – Haspa Marathon Hamburg – 29th April 2012 – Welcome to the Haspa Marathon Hamburg 2012!
On the 29th April 2012 it will all be happening again: together we will celebrate the Haspa Marathon Hamburg in the hanseatic city on the Elbe – this season it's the 27th time!
Besides many advantages for each individual competitor, we are for the first time running a Team Relay event.
Four relay runners can each run a part of the 42.195 km course and complete the Original Haspa Marathon
Hamburg as a team. Also, adults can now, as do the younger categories run the ZEHNTEL (one tenth distance)
over 4.2195 km on Saturday, 28th April 2012.
Entries are open as of 1st November 2011 for the team relay and from 1st February 2012 for the ZEHNTEL at www.haspa-marathon-hamburg.de
The rebate system has changed with our new registration system. The price reduction of € 7.50 for HaspaJoker
customers remains.
It's time for carboloading and shop talk at the pasta party on the evening before the Marathon – every registered competitor is offered a portion of high quality pasta and a drink at the special price of € 4.99.

Marathon Fair with a new name back to the Hamburg exhibition halls
After several years at various venues the Marathon Fair 2012 returns on the grounds of the Hamburg Messe and Congress GmbH. Here it will establish a wider content and present itself as integrated endurance sports fair. Upsolut Event GmbH is now in charge of the Marathon Fair and will bring in their experiences of successful events such as the Vattenfall Cyclassics, Škoda Velothon Berlin and the Dextro Energy Triathlon Hamburg.

The 2012 edition will keep its approved and attractive course through the hanseatic Metropolis with its famous and beautiful attributes.
Highlights of the course
• The Start is located at the "Entrance east" of the Reeperbahn – the athletes will then run along Hamburg’s sinful mile towards Altona
• Elbchaussee: Following the western turning point in Othmarschen, the noble Elbchaussee leads the runners back towards the Harbour, the Gateway to the World
• Along the patriarchal St. Pauli landing stage, the modern Harbour City with the Elbe Philharmonic Hall comes into sight
• After traversing the Wallring tunnel, the athletes are sent along the Jungfernstieg on the Inner Alster through the heart of the Hanseatic city
• Along the exclusive east bank of the Outer Alster the athletes move towards the Stadtpark – Hamburg´s green lung – which is located right next to the architectonically interesting North City
• The last third of the course leads the athletes through Alsterdorf towards the northern turning point in Ohlsdorf.
• The route moves on to the “Witches Cauldron” Eppendorfer Baum: traditionally the athletes are cheered on by tens of thousands of frenetic spectators at this location
• Once past the 40 km mark, the finish in the Rotherbaum district can be sensed
• Made it! Finish on Glacischaussee
