Take your chance and start the marathon season with a new personal best!
THE MARATHON QUARTET
Four can win: the marathon relays, a team event which promotes team spirit as well as sporting success divides the total distance of 42.195 km between four runners! The number of teams is limited; early bookers can get a discount!
The Meet & Greet Area on the upper Rheinuferpromenade is the right place to celebrate team spirit, even after the run.
The 42,195 km course of the Düsseldorf Marathon is one of the most attractive courses in Germany. Runners "stroll" along the world famous Königsallee, pass the modern "Medienhafen“ with buildings designed by Frank O. Gehry and make a final sprint along the Rhine promenade with a view of the castle and Rhine tower. The final stretch leads directly into the old town, where you can subsequently celebrate your success with a cool traditional beer.

Düsseldorf
Between the proverbial Rhenish joie-de-vivre and the cosmopolitan charm of a trade fair city with global repute, there is a wealth of attractions to be seen and experienced. The German Opera on the Rhine, numerous theatres and 18 museums document Düsseldorf’s position as one of the leading cultural cities in Germany. With its famous Königsallee, a splendid boulevard lined by chestnut trees, regarded as a catwalk for the latest fashion trends, the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital is one of the shopping destinations par excellence.
Over a length of 2 km, the Rhine embankment promenade invites you to a stroll with a breathtaking view of the city and river. Enjoy the Rhine from it's most beautiful promenade.
As in no other city, the life of Düsseldorf’s inhabitants is marked by Europe’s biggest river. The Rhine embankment Promenade is considered worldwide the most beautiful walk on the Rhine. Its construction has re-linked the city with the river – a welcome invitation to stroll or stay a while. The steps on Burgplatz are one of Düsseldorf’s most popular meeting places for the locals.
With a height of 172 m, the Rhine tower allows a sweeping view of the city, the river and the region. At its foot is the new building of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament dating from 1988, which was opened on the occasion of the city’s 700th birthday. Düsseldorf was made the capital of the most populous federal state in 1946. Next to the circular building of the state parliament is Düsseldorf’s new landmark, the Stadttor (city gate) has been awarded a prize as ‘Europe’s best office building’. It is also the seat of the state chancellery.
Renowned architects such as Frank O. Gehry, David Chipperfield, Joe Coenen, Steven Holl and Claude Vasconi have made the MediaHarbour one of the top addresses for the connoisseurs of architecture from all over the world. Where just a few years ago disused warehouses spread an atmosphere of gloom, international companies from the fields of advertising and art, communications and the media have now settled.
