RUNNING GERMANY: BERLIN – Countdown: 9 days to go – let the water flow! BERLIN-MARATHON
It is said that water is the source of all life. For the participants of the BERLIN MARATHON a good water supply is the source of finish, because without water no runner probably would survive the 26.2 miles.
That we can ensure the water supply every year we have to thank our two partners, the Berlin Water Works and Water Kopp.
The Berlin Water Works provide the water, which we can then take with a water hose system, built by Water Kopp, of the hydrants from the water system of Berlin.
Therefore about 10 km water hoses are put in place to supply all refreshment and aid stations with enough water.
That a marathon makes thirsty is another fact that we can prove with the consumption of more than 500,000 liters of water.
