The Israeli ultra marathon runner Ariel Rozenfeld won the fifth edition of the Wall Race. It took him 15:20:48 to complete the 161km long course around Western Berlin.

Ariel was delighted about the course and the idea of the Wall Race: „A run for freedom as good as it gets. The organisation, the course marking, everything very impressive.“

Ivan Bretan from Sweden came in second place in 15:44 hours, Minori Onozuka completed the podium in 16:12 hours.

Karlheinz-Kube-kleiner

The Wall Race annually commemorates the erection of the Wall and the victims of the border. At least 138 people lost their lives at the Wall. Among them Karl-Heinz Kube, who was shot in an escape attempt in 1966.

This year’s Wall Race is dedicated to him, on behalf of all the victims. 100 miles along the former border, 100 miles against forgetting, 55 years after the erection of the wall.
