Running Austria – 25th Austrian Women’s Run – Online Registration opened on March, 1st

Online registration for the 25^th edition of the Austrian Women's Run opened on March, 1^st. The 25^th Austrian Women's Run will be held on June, 3rd in Vienna, in the famous Viennese Prater.

Ilse Dippmann and Andreas Schnabl, organisers of the race, celebrate a special anniversary (25^th) this year: in 1988, Ilse Dippmann gave the first starting signal – 440 participants took part. Today, the Austrian Women's Run is the biggest women's run in Europe and one of the most important ones in the world – 25.145 women crossed the starting line in 2011.

Last year, registration had to be closed after only 31 days – due to organizational reasons organisers had to limit the number of participants to 25,100.

This year, organisers expect a similar number of participants.

Last year's winner of the 5k-race was Ana Dulce Félix (POR, European Vice-Cross-Champion 2010), who set a new record by finishing in 15:27,4min. Her Portuguese team mate Jessica Augusto, herself European Cross-Champion 2010, finished 2^nd and Germany's Sabrina "Mocki" Mockenhaupt crossed the finish line on the 3^rd place.
