Run Britain – News – Three months to your autumn marathon?
We are now in the month of July and with many marathons organised for the month of October it may be time to start tailoring your training and pumping up the volume (as in the amount of training you do rather than the settings on your headphones!)
There's no better time of year to do this as you have more daylight hours to get out and train and you can run on softer surfaces such as parkland or woodland trails whilst it is light.
Softer surfaces can help keep injuries at bay whilst you are increasing your training.
If you train with a Run England or jogscotland group or if you train with a club it may be time to speak to your leader or coach about setting a goal for the autumn.
If you don't have this sort of support you may want to use our marathon schedules as a guide so that you can plan towards your goal.
And what will that goal be? We have many to choose from on the calendar.
9 October is a popular date with the MBNA Chester Marathon, Salomon Kielder Marathon, 55th Isle of Wight Marathon, Eden Project Marathon, and RunLiverpool Marathon.
