Run Britain – News – Registration open for Mizuno Reading Half Marathon 2012
The organisers of the Reading Half Marathon are pleased to announce Mizuno as headline sponsor for 2012, and they have also confirmed that registration is now open for the popular race.
In its 29th year, the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 1st April 2012, finishing in the impressive Madejski Stadium. The route, which is one of the world's fastest half marathon courses, remains unchanged. The race starts in Green Park, 250m from the Madejski Stadium, taking runners along the old road to Reading University before going through the city centre, over the river Kennet, past The Oracle shopping complex, under Abbey Gate, out to Prospect Park and back into town. One of the highlights of the race is the finish in front of the stands in Reading Football Club's Madejski Stadium, which runners have described as 'unbelievable finish which makes the previous 13.1 miles totally worthwhile, definitely a race ending on a high'.

With entry limited to 18,000 runners registration to the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon is now open. Entry costs £31.50 for affiliated runners and £33.50 for non-affiliated runners, all runners receive a medal as well as a fantastic goody bag at the finish.
Runners of the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon raise £250,000 every year for the official race charities. CLIC Sargent and Royal Berks Charity have been announced as official charities for 2012, other supported charities include The Fire Fighters Charity, Pancreatic Cancer UK, Duchess of Kent House Charity, MS Therapy Centre, Against Breast Cancer, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Sue Ryder and Autistica.
