More than double the number of youngsters compared to last year will take part in The Grand Hotel Mini Mile Races, the spectacular curtain raiser to the Brighton Marathon on Sunday April 10.
An impressive 1,126 children have put their names down to run the final mile of the Brighton Marathon compared to 482 in 2010.
The children, split into eight age-groups and sporting colour-coded T-shirts, get to run the last mile of the Marathon along Brighton's majestic sea-front in front of an intoxicating throng of spectators.
At the end of each race, the first three finishers will be presented with their medals on a podium next to the finish.
The start line is close to the Peace Statue and the Races finish just beyond Brighton Pier in Madeira Drive.
The Races were open to anyone between the ages of eight and 17. All participants have received a T-shirt and will be presented with a Medal and Goody Bag at the finish.
To round off a scintillating morning, The Grand Hotel is hosting an After Race Meeting Point with refreshments for Mini Milers and their immediate family with the opportunity to watch the leaders enter the final mile of the Brighton Marathon from 11am onwards.
