Run GERMANY 2021: BERLIN -Restart of BMW BERLIN-MARATHON, GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON and adidas Runners City Night 2021
The rate of infections is tumbling and numerous relaxations in Corona restrictions are already being planned for the upcoming days. But what prospects are currently developing for major sporting events?
In Berlin, they are on their way back to some kind of normality in this respect, too. With the adidas Runners City Night, followed by the GENERALI BERLINER HALF MARATHON and the BMW BERLIN MARATHON in autumn, a three-stage model is being set up as part of a pilot project that is currently under development.
Why is this realistic pilot project, called „The long-awaited restart of running together. Of course, safely!“, so significant for major running events throughout Germany and the sports metropolis of Berlin?
The following high-profile representatives from politics, medicine, the event and sport industries will discuss this during a hybrid press conference on June 7, 2021:
- Andreas Geisel, Senator for the Interior and Sport in Berlin
- Jürgen Lock, Managing Director SCC EVENTS
- PD Dr. med. Matthias Krüll, Pneumologist and Medical Director of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON, Medical Delegate European Athletics Federation
- Dr. Gerhard Scheuch, physicist and one of the leading aerosol experts in Germany
- Dr. Florian Kainzinger, expert for hygiene concepts and test scenarios
- Marcel Altenburg, Senior Lecturer Crowd Science, specialist in crowd safety management
- Katrin Günther, rbb – Head of the Service and Sport editorial teams (BMW BERLIN-MARATHON Host Broadcaster – Germany)
