Radcliffe misses Osaka but will be back in the autumn – Reigning World Marathon champion Paula Radcliffe has confirmed she is planning to return to competition in the autumn.

Radcliffe, the World Marathon record holder, who with a storming performance was the only Briton to win an individual medal in Helsinki two years ago, is itching to get back into racing action.

But she insisted today from her training base at Font Romeau in the French Pyrenees. \“I\’m not going to rush or take any shortcuts trying to get back competing.\“
Radcliffe who is back in full-time training, added: \“Obviously it\’s too late for me to go to Osaka – it seems as if the World Championships have crept up on me overnight.
\“If things go to plan, I am hoping to return to racing in the early autumn.\“
