Portland Marathon/USA – We’re ON for Oct 3, 2021

Any doubts or fears about the status of the 2021 Portland Marathon presented by OHSU Health can safely be laid to rest!

In consultation with state and local authorities, it has been determined that the Portland Marathon presented by OHSU Health will occur as planned on Oct 3, 2021 with no foreseen COVID restrictions. 

For PDX runners this is welcome, if unsurprising, news on the heels of Governor Brown’s recent lift on state COVID guidelines.

While we want to encourage everyone not to hesitate to sign up for the Portland Marathon presented by OHSU Health, we also want to let our runners know that we continue to take the ongoing threat of COVID very seriously. Out of an abundance of caution, we will continue to monitor the status of the pandemic leading up to the race date and implement safety procedures as necessary.

We want remind our runners about our cancellation policy. In the extremely unlikely scenario that the Portland Marathon presented by OHSU Health is cancelled (due to COVID-19 or any other reason), refunds will not be processed.

The Transfer/Withdraw/Defer options will no longer be available once a cancellation is announced and therefore the deadlines stated on the withdrawal page do NOT apply.

Upon cancellation runners will be given the option of a virtual race or a 100% deferment credit to be applied to a future event.
