Welcome to the Polar Night Halfmarathon. Polar Night Half Marathon is the largest winterrace in norway with over 1200 runners from more than 35 different countries.

The Polar Night Half Marathon is held in Tromsø, Norway. Our city is situated above the Polar Circle and is renowned to be a faboulous place to see the norther lights.

The polar night period in Tromsø lasts from November 21st until January 21st. During this time of year we only have a few hours of daylight.

The Polar Night Half Marathon starts at 15:00 in the City Centre, and track is usually covered with snow or ice. You can choose between 3 distances: Half-Marathon, 10K or 5 K.

You can use your regular running equipment, but if the track is very slippery on race day we recommend spikes (you can buy portable ones in Tromsø).

The average temperature in Tromsø last January was – 5.6 degrees.
