PETITION TO THE IOC AND MR: BACH: Do not punish the whistleblower – Julia Stepanowa (Yuliya Stepanova) for Rio

Dear IOC, Dear Mr. Thomas Bach, it is not the first time that a courageous citizen provided fundamental information to reveal some catastrophic faults.

Remember Edward Snowden? His case shows how important whistleblowing is for our society. However it also shows how less is done to protect and at the same time appreciate what whistleblowers achieve for for society.

Can you imagine how disappointed I felt when I heard of the IOC's decision last Sunday?

Despite of the fact that there are evidences for massive systematic doping Russia has not been banned from the Olympic Games in Rio.

And as if this was not enough, especially the athlete, who was functioning as a whistleblower, who provided all information to reveal the whole scandal, who sacrificed her career for the sake of truth, she is the one not allowed to participate in Rio 2016.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is, according to a press release of Sueddeutsche Zeitung, very concerned about the signal that has been sent out to all future whistleblower.

Dear IOC, Dear Mr. Thomas Bach, please help, that whistleblowers are not being punished twice for the risks they take to reveal crimes.

please help that also in the future people are taking the right decision to support the truth. please help sending out a signal that the right and not the wrong people are punished.

Please let the whistleblower Julia Stepanowa (Yuliya Stepanova), in appreciation of her efforts to reveal one of the biggest doping scandals in history, participate in Rio under the neutral olympic flag.
