Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Fred’s Team Grete’s Great Gallop is a tribute to the legendary Grete Waitz, an incredible runner and a close friend of New York City Marathon co-founder Fred Lebow. The twosome shared incredibly moving memories together, including their new York City Marathon race together in 1992 as Fred was fighting brain cancer. Fred’s Team has currently raised more than $61 million in the fight against cancer. |

The Harry Murphy Cross Country 5K is a perfect opportunity for the runner looking to experience the green spaces and wooded trails of Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. This race is in memory of Harry Murphy, who as a runner, coach, and mentor, will be remembered for his innovative workouts and for helping many develop a love for running.

This NYRR Youth Running Series as part of the Harry Murphy Cross Country event gives youth ages 7-18 the ability to also try out a cross country course of their own. The one mile race is suitable for youngsters of all fitness levels. |

The NYRR Youth Running Series at Clove Lakes Park, the third event in the 2015 fall NYRR Youth Running Series, will take place on Clove Lakes Park’s newly renovated cross country course. The race is one mile and will be for 7-18 year olds only. Every child will receive a souvenir T-shirt and bib and the top three individuals in each race will be given awards on site.

The NYRR Five-Borough Series: Staten Island Half will once again conclude the NYRR Five Borough Series. This race is dedicated to making a positive impact on the borough that hosts the start of the TCS New York City Marathon. Scheduled just three weeks before the TCS New York City Marathon, it is the perfect tune-up for the marathon. The race will feature fabulous views of New York and the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. It will also highlight the fastest New York City Fire Department (FDNY) member, who will be honored with the Fire Lieutenant Victor J. Navarra FDNY Family of Champions Trophy. |

This newly-added race is for those who want to be part of the fun on Staten Island, without running the 13.1 mile NYRR Staten Island Half. Finishers will be able to enjoy stunning views of Manhattan and finish at home plate in the Richmond County Bank Ballpark. There will also be a post-race festival that will feature raffle prizes and other fun activities. |
