Live Stream Alert / Elite Field Update for the 2025 tRUNsylvania 10K in Brasov on Sunday 5 October 2025
Brasov, Romania, 4 October: The tRUNsylvania 10K on Sunday 5 October – the only 2025 World Athletics Elite Label Road Race over 10km in Europe and the most prestigious 10km road race in southeast Europe – will be streamed live via the Brasov Running Festival website www.brasovrun.ro.
The live stream is available free anywhere in the world and is without any geo-blocking.
Expert English-language commentary will be provided by the renowned broadcaster and two-time World Cross Country Championships silver medallist Tim Hutchings.
Guests include Kenya’s five-time world cross country champion and former 10,000m and marathon world record holder Paul Tergat, and Great Britain’s 1984 Olympic Games 3000m silver medallist and former 10km world champion Wendy Sly.
The women’s race starts at 0930 local time (0830 CET / 0630 GMT) and the men’s race starts at 1015 local time (0915 CET / 0715 GMT).
The women’s race sees Kenya’s multiple world record-breaker Joyciline Jepkosgei bidding to improve on her personal best and former world record of 29:43.
Jepkosgei also has national pride at stake and will be looking to keep her country’s flag flying high in Brasov as Kenyan runners have won the women’s race in each of the previous four editions of the tRUNsylvania 10K.
However, she is only one of three runners who have broken 30 minutes for 10km in their careers in an outstanding women’s field which oozes quality.
The fastest woman on the start line in Brasov is the 2022 and 2024 world U20 5000m champion Medina Eisa who leads this year’s 10km world list with 29:25, which she clocked when winning in the Spanish town of Castellon back in February.
The 20-year-old Ethiopian is undefeated in her three road race outings in 2025 and has also improved her 3000m best on the track to 8:23.08.
Also on the start line in Brasov will be Eisa’s compatriot Asayech Ayichew, another 20-year.old, who has run a spate of personal bests this year including 29:43 at the Valencia 10km in January.
The tRUNsylvania 10K women’s course record is 30:07 set by Kenya’s Sheila Chepkirui in 2022.
The men’s race features five Kenyan runners who have 10km personal bests faster than 27:30.
The quintet is led Daniel Kosen although the mantle of favourite possibly rests jointly on the shoulders of his compatriots Vincent Kipkorir and Vincent Kiprono, with both in outstanding form on the roads during the first half of 2025.
The trio, like many of the other leading runners on the start line in Brasov, have their sights set on improving the tRUNsylvania 10K course record of 26:51 which has been owned by another Kenyan, Nicolas Kipkorir Kimeli, since 2022.
