KOSICE MARATHON DIAMOND CLUB HAS 46 MEMBERS – Kosice Marathon on Sunday October 2, 2016

Diamond as a synonym for exceptionality. There are many comparisons, one of them stands for IAAF Diamond League where the top world athletes meet and compete.

Those who are members of Kosice Marathon Diamond Club are not the best but definetly belongs among the most devoted. There are 46 of them who met the one and only club requirement. They have run marathon in Kosice at least 25 times.

Their stories may fill many pages but let´s mention at least two names. Peter Polák ran his very first marathon in home town Kosice in 1974 and it must be pointed out that he has always been the one finishing with results that shout for respect.

In 1980 he made it for excellent 2:25:20 and for 28 times he has run under 3 hours. Peter and his friends of course focus on Sunday October 2, 2016 when he will be running his 40th Kosice Marathon. Seeing that we could meet him in the finish 39 times we shouldn´t be worried that he as a proud member of Diamond Club won´t successfuly finish this year as well.

Another name from the Diamond Club family, considered not to be less brave or determined, belongs to Eva Kissova in her early running career also known as Eva Winterova (before marriage).

She will be as well as Peter Polák celebrating important milestone this year while running her 30th marathon in Kosice and alike Peter she has never given up the race before finish.
