Kiew City Marathon on april 27, 2014 – Kyiv City Marathon now with Wizz Air – Company McDonald’s is an official sponsor

Kyiv International Marathon has concluded 5-year contract on collaboration with air company Wizz Air Ukraine, which, starting from today, becomes main sponsor of the event.

It is for the first time in the history of Marathon that name of the sponsor will be added to the name of the Marathon, thus, this year racing will be organized under the name of Wizz Air Kyiv City Marathon. Today agreement about partnership for 5 years was concluded between General Director of Wizz Air Ukraine Akosh Bush and General Manager of Kyiv City Marathon Dmitriy Chernitskiy.

From the moment of holding the first marathon in 2010 the number of participant of this even is increasing every year. 1693 participants from 33 countries took part in the marathon in 2013. For participation in the 5th Kyiv City Marathon this year more than 1600 participants have registered, and this amount changes every day! One of the peculiarities of this race will be the fact that all the participants will receive the voucher, equivalent to 20 euro that can be used while booking Wizz Air tickets.

 

 

General Director of Wizz Air Akosh Bush commented: "Together with a desire of Ukrainians to travel comfortably and buy tickets at a reasonable price, our air company also supports mobility and active way of life. To prove this we are glad to invite all the fans of racing to tie their laces and take part in Wizz Air Kyiv City Marathon, which will happen in slightly more than 20 days. Dmitriy Chernitskiy, General Manager of Kyiv City Marathon added: "I consider collaboration of  Kyiv City Marathon with the company Wizz Air to be a great success for both parties. Our 5-year contract about collaboration guarantees the stable development of competitions. Wizz Air provides with possibility of cheap air tickets due to which more participants from neighboring countries can join us. Marathon will become a symbol of unification of fans of racing not only in all regions of Ukraine, but in the whole world.

This will help to strengthen the positive image of Ukraine in the international racing sphere, promoting racing and healthy way of life. Together we will increase culture of racing in our country to the new level."

McDonald's supports desire of organizers to develop the culture of racing and healthy way of life among children. In the framework of Kyiv International Marathon company McDonald's will participate as main sponsor of children race.

 

 

 

It is for the first for the history of holding Kyiv Marathon that the youngest participants will receive the starting numbers with chips that will allow to fix the time of racing of every participant and to award them with personalized diplomas with results.

McDonald's is the leader in the sphere of fast-food service in Ukraine. The first McDonald's in Ukraine was open on May 24^th, 1997 in Kyiv.

On global level McDonald's cooperates with Olympic Committee and supports football championships of FIFA and UEFA.
