Hinriksdottir has an eye on a record in Reykjavik – European Athletics – News
European indoor bronze medallist Anita Hinriksdottir is planning to put on a show for her home fans at the RIG Games in Reykjavik, a European Athletics Indoor Permit Meeting, on 3 February with a fast time in her specialist event.
Hinriksdottir set a national indoor 800m record of 2:01.18 in this meeting last year and the 22-year-old is looking to better that mark when she toes the start-line in the Laugardalshöll.
Hinriksdottir went on to claim her first senior medal at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade last winter before picking up a silver medal at the European Athletics U23 Championships in Bydgoszcz.
Hinriksdottir narrowly missed breaking the two-minute barrier outdoors but she did eclipse her national outdoor record with 2:00.05 in Oslo. She also set a national 1500m record of 4:06.43 in Hengelo in her first serious attempt at the distance.
